Schedule Your Free Consultation

With whom do you work?
I work with adult women and their adult family members.
What happens during the consultation call?

The free 20-minute consultation call lets us see if we are a good fit. I will ask some questions and encourage you to ask any questions you may have about how I work and my therapy experience or background.

At the end of the call, we can schedule your first appointment or provide you with a referral depending on the best fit.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

As my client, you will receive appointment reminders 48 hours before our session. Therefore, we uphold a 48-hour cancellation policy. You must reschedule or cancel all appointments through your client portal. Phone calls, texts, or emails are not an accepted form of cancellation. Please be aware that insurance does not reimburse late cancellations or missed sessions.

How do I know if therapy will be helpful for me?

There are subtle and more obvious signs that you could benefit from therapy. If you feel overwhelmed, unable to connect with those around you, depressed, or want more from life, a therapist can help you.

More subtle signs that therapy could help may include feeling mentally fatigued, “stuck,” or overreacting to small setbacks or other minor events.

Will I need to have a specific problem before starting therapy?
Many people begin therapy to address a specific issue and often end treatment when they feel their problem no longer exists. Others may begin therapy without a clear goal while looking for support and clarity. Both reasons are valid and common for people that choose to start therapy.
Is seeing a therapist something many people do?
Attending therapy is more common than many people expect. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), around 40% of insured adults between 18 and 64 seek therapy yearly. The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) reports that more than 20 million adults in the United States have a mental health condition and receive some form of mental health services. As of 2019, an additional 3 million people received treatment for depression compared to 20 years earlier.
How long will I be in therapy?

The length of your treatment depends on your individual goals and commitment to your progress.

Sometimes, we see clients for a specific issue and meet for several months. Other times, we see clients for over a year because they have decided that while they completed their original goals, the insight and confidence they gather from the deeper, more long-term work are worth continuing. It’s totally up to you.

Will I have homework?
Yes and no. Some clients benefit from worksheets or journaling about areas they are learning to change others cannot fit another five minutes into their schedule. However, for the brain to change, integrating new habits into your daily life and reporting the results is very helpful and can result in significant change.
Will therapy be the best thing I have ever done for myself?

Absolutely! Whether it is at Bond Therapy Practice or another, an investment in your happiness and well-being is the gift that keeps on giving! Treat yourself well, change your life, and you and the world around you will be glad you did. Everyone deserves to live their best life.
